Confirmation
The Confirmation Class at St. John's, led by Pastor Kubke, is a two year program that teaches unconfirmed members of the Lutheran faith about what it means to be a Lutheran. We are a Christian church that gives people the opportunity to confirm their faith. Most Christian groups that baptize babies ask parents to promise, when bringing their children to be baptized, that they will raise their children to know that they are Christians, and that they will give their children the chance to learn the teachings of the Bible.

Congratulations to the three young men who were confirmed here on Palm Sunday after completing the two year program. There will be an organizational meeting for the parents and their kids who have completed the first year of the program and for parents and children who are interesting in enrolling in the first year of the program. This meeting will take place Tuesday, June 1 at 7:30. We will go over the program requirements, allow for parent input as to course content and field trips, and set the day of the week and time for the classes in the winter term. We will determine when classes will begin in September. We will also decide the confirmation date for 2011. Please contact the church office at 780-963-7773 for more details. During the months of April and May, the church office will be contacting the parents of all children baptized in our congregation in 1998. If you know of any other children who are turning 12 in 2010 and would like to enroll, please let us know! |
